Dr Paul Riley
Dr Paul Riley, GP at the Merton GP hubs and Stonecot Surgery
“I qualified as a doctor in 2008 and worked in a variety of medical, surgical and intensive care hospital posts with an interest in clinical research before training as a GP. Ten years have gone by in a flash!
“I provide GP services to patients across Merton by working at hub practices that offer appointments during evenings and weekends, improving access to healthcare for patients at times which may be more convenient for them. I also work as a GP at Stonecot Surgery during the week.
“The hubs mean people in Merton can book an appointment with a GP or nurse between 5pm and 8pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays and Sundays between 8am and 8pm.
“People can book through their own GP practice or by calling NHS 111 if their practice is closed.
“The best thing about working in south west London is the variety. The demographic mix provides a fascinating insight into health and disease across a broad and diverse spectrum of the population and is relentlessly challenging and rewarding in equal measure.
“I feel proud every day because I am privileged to have the chance to work hard at work worth doing. Every day I apply my skills to help the person in front of me – that is why I entered the medical profession and that motivation remains just as strong today.”
