The NHS offers over 150 different apprenticeships, ranging from Levels 2 to 7, equivalent to GCSE up to Degree and Masters level. With over 20,000 apprentices in roles across the NHS, apprenticeships offer the opportunity to upskill the workforce and invest in staff; attract new talent and increase diversity by recruiting staff who reflect their local communities. Most importantly apprenticeships are a valuable way to train the NHS workforce to deliver better care and services for the benefit of patients.

South West London Health & Care Partnership are working with Our Healthier South East London to develop a joined up approach to apprenticeships. This is in collaboration with Health Education England and health and social care organisations across south London.

The partnership will support health and social care organisations across south London to meet their 2.3% government apprenticeship targets and utilise levy funding before the end of May 2019 by bringing providers together to work collaboratively to share good practice, innovation and success stories.
